  • An artifact found in the wreck of the Esmeralda ship belonging to the Vaska da Flota, in the waters near Oman, is the oldest known instrument for navigation.! ....
Marine archaeologists claim that it is the oldest astrolab, an instrument used by sailors to determine the time, the position of the Sun, the Moon and the stars during the journey. It is believed that this instrument - astrolab, dates from the period between 1495 and 1,500 years.
Astrolab was found in 2014 in a wreck of a Portuguese exploration ship that sank during the storm in the Indian Ocean in 1503.
The ship was called "Esmeralda" and was part of a fleet led by Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama, the first person to directly fly from Europe to India.
"It is a great privilege to find something so rarely, something historically important, something that archaeologists will study," British astrologer David Merns, the team leader who found (the oldest in the world) astrolab, the oldest astrolab navigational instrument
The bronze disc diameter is 17.5 millimeters, and it is thinner than two millimeters.
Although initially experts seemed to find nothing important on astrolab, laser marking at University "Vorvik" detected labels on the edges of the disk, and between each spacing of five degrees.
Thanks to this, seafarers could measure the sun's height over the horizon at noon and thus determine the location. Astrolabs are very rare, and this is a total of 108 that was found.

You jumped at the same time from the Ginis River Bridge!

  • In the Brazilian town of Hortolandia in Brazil, from a single bridge simultaneously jumped 245 people attached to ropes. With this jump, 245 people tried to sign in Ginis's book of record ....
Of course, trying to get into the Ginis's record book, all participants in this massive jump from the bridge did not forget the helmets and other protective equipment.
Despite the fact that most of the participants ended up in the water, the goal was to jump from the bridge and then rope to roar several times like a pendulum.
So 245 participants stood on a thirty-meter high bridge, one to the other in the Hortolandi town of the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo, with shouts and loud laughter almost all of them simultaneously jumped from the bridge!
After a short swing over the surface of the water, some decided to climb the rope back to the bridge, while others chose to poke.
Ginis's record book has not yet confirmed whether this is a new world record in the number of people who jumped from the bridge at the same time. And it is likely that this jump will be recognized by Ginis's record book.
Previous Ginis' unofficial record of simultaneous jump from the bridge of more people was put to the city of Tver, Russia, 2012

The unusual phenomenon of the sea flows fast like a mountain river!

  • Euripos's Greek channelThe Greek island of Evia, as well as its capital, Halkidu, is characterized by an unusual and meaningful phenomenon known as "Crazy Water". This is a very rare (un) natural phenomenon ... that appears in the Evrippos Canal, where seawater flows very quickly like a mountain river.
And for now no one has given any good explanation why something like this is happening with sea water!
The Evriposov Channel is 8 km long and its width varies from 40 meters to 1.6 km.
On the narrowmost part of the canal, there is the administrative center of the island of Evia, the capital of Chalkidis, divided into two parts by channel.
Just at that point, the sea current is so strong (12 knots) to flow like a mountainous fast river, every six hours the current completely changes direction. This phenomenon reaches its peak under an old bridge where the water has a speed of 15 km per hour!
Many say that at this speed, even the shark wrestlers struggle to swim in the opposite direction.
The water flows for six hours in one direction, then it stops for eight minutes, so it continues to run in the other direction for the next six hours and so on.
This is why the Greek city of Chalkidus is also called the City of Crazy Water.
The phenomenon that is happening in the Euripos Canal was fascinated by the ancient Greek thinkers like Plato, who in his part Fedon referred to the Euripos channel as an example of incompetence, as something that constantly changes direction.
Many legends are connected to him, and people do not cease to admire his magnificence, as he constantly springs up his imagination and curiosity.
